Article: Stop Trying
by: Dr. Randin Brons, Ph.D., C.M.H., M.S.L.C.
How many times
have you felt like giving up? How many times have you thought it's not
worth it? How many experiences have you had that made you think, "Why am
I doing this?" It could be a small business venture you're going for. It
could be a relationship you decided to go into.
Maybe you're just
exhausted and standing there with your hands in the air ready to throw
in the towel.
This could be any
one of us with any path we decided to travel. It's not limited to the
CEO. It's not limited to the overwhelmed single mom even. I'm speaking
to any one who ...

Article: Low Battery by:
Angela Frisby, M.L.B.C., M.S.L.C.
I was in a hurry on Wednesday. An appointment had run late and I had
several errands to run before I needed to pick up my daughter from
school and rush to the next activity. My mind was racing with items
that I continuously prioritized to accommodate an already too-tight
schedule.
I quickly turned into the school pick-up line, just in time to secure a
coveted spot. The sky opened wide and rain fell quickly and hard around
my car. I had a few minutes to jot down the items that I was worried
would be forgotten if not documented somewhere, so I turned off the
engine and took out my daily notebook.
All around me lightning popped and thunder boomed. I sat there emptying
my brain on paper as ...

Article: Our Stress ... A State of Anger
and Unhappiness by:
Michael J. Boyle, C.L.C.
If you corner most
anyone born in America, and now over the age of 60, and ask them to
compare social relationships from a half century ago to today’s
condition the answers are startlingly similar and revealing. The general
answers are frequently that those times from the past were more
considerate, patient, methodical, gentler and compassionate. To most
under the age of 60 those revelations will be greeted with disbelief, in
the extreme, or at best garner accusations of gross exaggeration. A lot
of that can be attributed to a condition we hear a great deal about
today called Denial. Denial has become the resolution to things we
don’t understand or don’t want to accept. Let’s consider these
differences that most, over age ...

Article: Sex, It Does a Spirit Good
by: Linda Joy Sullivan, L.R.C., G.C.
Everyone’s
favorite pastime is Sex. But are there benefits? And even though you
want it, do you ever get enough of it? There have been many studies
that indicate that both men and women who have frequent sex-- and
yes, that means at least a couple of times a week-- live longer than
those who don't. So why not benefit from the pleasure? Let your body
connect to your mind and spirit.

Article: Understanding Yourself
by: Linda Johnson, M.S.L.C.
It often happened
that I would commit to achieve something which I felt was achievable,
but would fail to do so. This would really frustrate and de-motivate me
leading to a very low self-esteem, and I stopped believing in myself.
Till one day I realized that there was nothing wrong with my persona,
but it was because I was attempting to achieve the unachievable.
I had thought
myself to be a lion which I was not, in reality. I lacked a realistic
understanding of myself and my capabilities which led me into
depression. Understanding yourself leads you to accept yourself the way
you are, and in turn makes you a very happy person. You can’t direct the
