Title: When We Wish Upon a Star or Rub that Genie's Bottle ... Everyone is Neutral

by: Linda Joy Walden, L.R.G.C., M.S.L.C.

As a people we crave for relationships.  We search the world over and make a wish, whether it is upon a star, or through the magical Genie’s bottle, for companionship, love and acceptance.  As members of the human race, we desire to be a part of something bigger than just ourselves.  So what draws us to this connectivity with our fellow humans, and, hopefully, to our lover or life partner?  What makes us connect?

Some people connect with food and alcohol.  Many others connect with sex.  Humanity craves that which is physical--we want to see it, touch it, and feel it.  We wish to experience it.  Relationships mean there will be mutual benefit to each party.  We expect terms in our relationship to guarantee benefits.  Regardless of the relationship, whether it is business or romantic, those terms ensure that we will receive benefits.  It is when the terms are breached that the relationship becomes broken.

When the married woman touches another man, her spouse feels a spiritual betrayal.  When the married man looks at another woman, his spouse senses that her relationship may be at risk.  When a business person takes more than his or her share of the profits from a partner, then the spiritual connection is weakened.

Within our soul we harbor the worldview of all that lies beyond the physical.  Within the soul lies the mind where we not only reason, but analyze and draw our conclusions, no matter how calculating they may be.  Also within the soul lies the heart -- the love and hate experiences of all human emotion.  So with our mind that thinks and our heart that feels, we manifest to become the personality of the soul.  Terrific we think.  And just when we feel the surge of passionate emotion, enter our spirit.  Spirit-- that electric surge uniting us with one another and with the highest calling of man.

Hence, we are given a task.  How wonderful--more things on our to-do list!  To Do--Rule our spirits well.  We must connect appropriately to that which does us good and not harm.  But we are humans we say.  We crave connection beyond all cravings.  All right—To Do--search for outlets to satisfy our cravings.  But our connections have many options, and they can connect anywhere at anytime.  But when we wish upon a star or rub that Genie’s bottle, are we are all neutral?  No matter whom we are, what we wish for may bring us only temporary satisfaction that will eventually leave us unsatisfied and in need of a greater dose on our next wish.

So when our wish is granted, it is not what we wish for, but the way we wish that will connect not only through our spirit, but through that higher neutral spirit that ties all of our bodies and souls together—equally as the human race.

Wish Granted -- If our human relationships are the vehicle by which all good things enter our lives, then this is also the vehicle by which good things enter the lives of others.  One more item removed from our To Do List.

END.
