Title: Sex, It Does a Spirit Good

by: Linda Joy Sulllivan, L.R.G.C., M.S.L.C.

Everyone’s favorite pastime is Sex.  But are there benefits? And even though you want it, do you ever get enough of it?  There have been many studies that indicate that both men and women who have frequent sex-- and yes, that means at least a couple of times a week -- live longer than those who don't. So why not benefit from the pleasure?  Let your body connect to your mind and spirit.

Did you know that a fun go in the sack can burn approximately 200 calories?  And if your lovemaking can go four hours or more…do the math!  Get into the fitness factor.  The act of sex works not only the thighs, butt, pelvis, thorax and other muscles, but it produces testosterone that helps strengthen bones and muscles.

And hey ladies, did you know that sex works the same muscles that we use to control our bladder?  After all those children, get strong again and in control!  But what better way to reduce stress and depression?  Feel secure and happy in your relationship by enjoying your partner sexually more times each week.

And just when you realize that while keeping smiles on each others’ faces and bringing yourselves together body, mind and spirit has its benefits, research comes along again and says keep at it!  Why?  Because it is said that having sex three or more times a week has been shown to not only reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke, but the pleasurable sex act boosts the immune system.  So get out there and strengthen not only that body, but strengthen you heart!

Could there be even more benefits by being part of such an enjoyable activity?  Not only will you please your partner and your Doctor when you go for your next check-up, but can you imagine getting good reports from your Dentist!  Semen contains all the necessary minerals to help impede tooth decay.  So not only is your physical and mental health ready for an uplifting positive state, but your oral health will benefit as well.

Now guys and gals, remember you can have no more headache excuses.  Sex comes to the rescue again!  This wonderful physical activity causes your body to release endorphins which can alleviate the pain of headaches—even migraines!

So practice safe sex.  But most importantly, practice sex … after all … you owe it to yourself to do your mind, body and spirit's good!  And practice makes perfect!

END.
